I didn't get the job
by Elsewhere ini have been doing contract work for about four years now and i have been trying to get a permanent position for well over a year.
last week i did an interview for a job that would have been perfect.
it was even very close to where i live... within a five minute drive.. this morning i got feedback and they really liked me, but decided to go with another candidate.

Elsewhere, I'm so sorry to hear this...You too, Lady Lee....big business is hurting the American public with shipping jobs overseas...wonder how many will continue to buy their products.....My son-in-law started his own business, designing programs for businesses and my daughter is doing tutoring for the employees....it's either feast or famine for them, too....

i knew of some in the congregation that didn't do business with brothers and sisters because they'd gotten burnt too many times.
i knew of others that felt obliged to buy something from fellow witnesses, especially elders.

Min, as an example, one time I was shopping in the local Sears store for a sewing machine....I saw and spoke to an Elder's daughter who worked in that department, but they didn't have anything for the price I was looking for at the time, so I left.....the next week, Sears had a sale, so I ran over there and purchased the machine I had wanted...the elder's daughter wasn't at work that day.....but the machine WAS.....later at the KH, the Elder came up to me and chastised me for not waiting to purchase the item thru his daughter.....and frankly, m'dear...I didn't give a d*mn.....

On the other hand, there is a handful that regularly demonstrate incredible insensitivity and hypocrisy. When called on it, they dismiss, dissemble and endlessly carry on debate in a vain attempt to save face. Oftentimes this 'game' has carried on for many years, on many db's. As distasteful as it is to see that, nevertheless it gives the rest of us the clear evidence we need to decide for ourselves what kind of characters such people have (or don't have).
Eventually, we develop the spine to tell them off, or, better yet, simply ignore their disingenuous drivel.

I finished one job and began a new one with a raise in pay.....
